Physical Education & Sports

The Department of Physical Education was established in 1991 along with the establishment of the college. In 1999, Prof. P. S. Nagrale was the first professor appointed in this department. He was in this department till 2006. Later, Dr. Ajit Jachak and Dr. Dhananjay Deote have been in charge of the department for about five years till the appointment of Dr. Alka A. Thodge in 2011. With their arrival, the glorious tradition of the department was revived and the number of players who represented the college at various levels and brought glory to the institution increased. Many players from the department have represented the institution in various competitions at all important levels up to the national level. Dr. Alka Thodge is the recognized research guide of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. She was also a member of the Board of Studies of the Department of Physical Education of the university since 2024-25. The post of this department is now vacant due to her appointment as Principal in July 2025.
