IQAC

Introduction:

National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore (NAAC) proposes that every accredited institution should establish and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. The College established IQAC in 2013. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution towards promoting its holistic academic excellence.

Objective:

The primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution.

Strategies: 
IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for:

  1. Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
  2. The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes.
  3. Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society.
  4. Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning.
  5. The credibility of evaluation procedures.
  6. Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure and services.
  7. Research sharing and networking with other institutions in India and Abroad.
Functions: 
Some of the functions expected of the IQAC are:

  • Designing and implementing Annual Plans for institute-level activities for quality enhancement
  • Disseminating information on various quality parameters of higher education
  • Facilitating the creation of learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process   .
  • Developing and applying quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution
  • Organizing workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promoting quality circles
  • Documenting various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for quality-related activities
  • Arranging for feedback responses from students, parents and alumni for quality-related institutional processes
  • Preparing the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC based on the quality parameters

Institutional Policies:

The institutional policies with regard to quality assurance are:

  • To develop strategies for improvement in the performance of faculties and students for overall improvement of the institution
  • To renovate and upgrade the existing facilities so as to achieve excellence in academics, sports and cultural activities
  • To promote and motivate faculty members for research oriented activities
