From the Principal’s Desk

It gives me immense pleasure to introduce Bar. Sheshrao Wankhede Mahavidyalaya, Mohpa to you as the Principal of the same. Mohpa is a small and remote place where formal education was available up to X+II level till 1990. Our college was established in 1991 with a single programme of B.A. under Arts faculty. We made slow but steady progress and introduced two P.G. programmes in the form of M.A. (Marathi) and M.A. (Sociology) in 2001-02 and never had problems of strength. In these almost three decades, the college has produced a good number of teachers, professors, doctorates, lawyers, NET/SET qualifiers, athletes, etc. Above all what satisfies me the most is the fact that we have produced cultured human beings. We can boast of having almost cent percent doctoral degree holding teaching faculties with a decent research experience although we are small in size as an institute.
It’s quite challenging to educate students coming from socio-economically weak ‘cross section’ of the society, but the teachers have been working tirelessly and without a complaint for the growth and development of the college. Even with bare minimum facilities available to the staff and the students, we keep ourselves floating above the surface mainly because of the camaraderie shared between the teaching and non-teaching staff.
